What a great tip, I'm looking on here while the one I'm searching opens when I should have a couple of Ancestry windows open. Thanks Joanne |

Another tip is to have several windows open. So while one image is loading you can be reading another one. Rose |

hiya, that is very true, but it doesnt take long to searcha yr, as there are only 4quarters, in a yr, once you get hang of who/where you are looking it is really quite easy, seems daunting at first, but i find i only search one yr at a time, as multiple yrs seem never ending HTH Julie |

Thanks Julie I can see it been a long night ahead of me, I think that it will be 99% mine as I can't see there been that many Spetches born in Sheffield at that time with the exact same name as the Mother that I have Thanks all Joanne |

hiya, you wont find much regarding births on Freebmd, as it isnt complete yet,, you need this link to goto ancestry and search the complete index, quarter by quarter, and yr by yr http://www*ancestry*co*uk/search/rectype/vital/freebmd/bmd.aspx you need to replace * with dots HTH Julie |

You know what? Spetch isn't that common a surname at all. That birth is probably one of yours. Rose |

I know I will have to send for the cert to be certain, I will add it to the growing list! May need to win the lottery at this rate. Have tried after 1911 on FreeBMD and ancestry and also treid for the name clough to see if the other women ( Martin-Renwick ) married him and had a child after 1911 but no luck as yet Thanks Joanne |

To narrow things down you could try looking for Clough births with the other woman's surname after 1911. Rose |

hiya, me again OR you could look for other children born AFTER 1911, as tht is when MMN appears at side of childs name in the index, this would also be a good indicator, that they were indded the parents HTH Julie |

hiya, hate to state the obvoius but if she was born a spetch?? then seems obvious she married him, ?? only way to find out for sure is to order cert of child, will give both parents names HTH Julie |
