Hi I've finally decided to start tracing my roots properly. I've found a record which confirms my great grandmothers maiden name as Mary Broughton. All I know is my grandad (Albert Henry Crabtree) was born in Doncaster in 1912 and had 3 sisters, Nora, Connie & Doris. Can anyone give me any advice on what I can do next to find any more information online? Thanks in advance Jennie |

Welcome to the addictive hobby of genealogy. If you wish to go 'backwards', you need firstly to obtain details of the 1912 birth.......the cert will tell you the full names of both parents, and that should enable you to find them on 1901 census, which is the most recent one currently open to the public. You can find your grandad´s birth registration by searching the complete images on Ancestry (you will have to register with the site first - free) http://www.ancestry(.)co(.)uk/search/rectype/vital/freebmd/bmd.aspx remove the brackets |

The years to search for the parents' marriage would depend on whether the above was the first-born................do you have that info? Reg |
