One of my relatives, born during the 2nd world war, was born in Ireland as his mum had gone to stay over there as it was 'safer'?So would they be on an Irish register? Thank you R x |

Hi Rebecca I would of thought that if he was born there then his parents would have to register him exactly where he was born. I know that in our times you have to register a child where they are born, a marraige has to be registered where you are married and death the same. Am not 100% certain but I would of thought it would be the same back then. Nicola |

south I think, but im really not sure and both he and his parents are now dead and havent got anyone to ask. Where would I look for Irish records? Thank you |

If it's Eire then you need to contact the Ireland GRO: http://www.groireland.ie/ For Northern Ireland they have a separate one.....I forget the address, so just google! I THINK either office will conduct a 5 year search for you. Merry |
