1937 Was there a coranation ?

Have just found an old photo of 1937, as the street is decked in bunting etc thought it must be a coranation or Royal wedding. Kings & Queens not my best subject!

Yup and we still have a coronation mug. I was 6 weeks old, Was George the sixth & Queen Elizabeth, the father & mother of our present Queen

Oh shame on you Brits for not being able to answer that question! This Canadian knew immediately that it was the coronation of George VI and Queen Elizabeth, our wonderful Queen Mom. Also that it was supposed to be the coronation of Edward VIII, but he abdicated so that he could marry the woman he loved. Margaret
