Failing that Google OIOC for the Office of Indian and Oriental Collections at the British Library. They are very helpful.

All of my husbands family back to 1816 were born in India. The baptism and marriage certificates that were obtained in th 1960's proving that the family originated from England were obtained from : The Commonwealth Relation Office King Charles Street Whitehall London SW1 I don't know if it's still there, but at least it's a start. Good luck

Does anyone have experience re obtaining Marriage Certificates for India or is this an impossible task? Many thanks katrina
