I'm looking at buying either Family Tree Maker or Family Tree Suite. Has anyone any other suggestions or can recommend which of these is best? Thanks.

I don't know Family Tree Suite but FTM is briliant.AND - really simple to use, which is very important to me. Dea x

I agree, FTM is great and easy to use. Shop around for best price I got de-luxe for £30 including 3 months free trial with ancestry. Jennifer

I think someone said its only a fiver at Morrisons at the moment! If not, try S and N Genealogy online or indeed, ancestry who are selling it for $19 at the moment.

There do seem to be various versions of FTM. AND they vary in price so much! Is it worth buying the cheapest one (at about £9.99)? What do you get for £30? Allie

I looked in our Morrisons, but no sign of FTM!

I believe £9.99 is about average at the moment and it doesn't lack anything the others have. Dea x

Thanks all. I think I found it on Woolies site at £7.99 - they have free delivery to local store so might go for that one! Allie

Check before you buy but I think on the cheaper versions you cannot do quite so much. The De luxe version enables you to print off reports etc which the cheaper one dosen't. Pauline

Thanks Pauline. Shall have to think about coughing up all that money though! Does no-ne know anything about the Family Tree Suite though? It's available at Currys and Tesco on-line. Allie x

FTM Deluxe has some extra discs with a few Parish Records, but they are not worth the extra expense. The standard FTM is an identical programme minus the extra discs. Both versions have the same features, scrapbooks, report print options, website hosting for your own site, etc. Glen

Is it possible to print up a decent family tree from FTM? I can do it using the 'ged' thingy from the LDS site but it doesn't include siblings etc. Thanks Allie
