One of my rellies - George John Ingram and his family cannot be found on the 1881 census - he was born in Birmingham in 1856 and was married to Emma Sarah France. His occupation was glassblower. So decided to give up on him for awhile so went on to Emma Sarah France family - her father Joseph E France born about 1837 also a glass blower and guess what no where to be found on the 1881 census. Also living in Birmingham. Where were they busy blowing glass - with all their families in toe on the night of the census!! Any ideas - appreciated. Karen |

In 1891 Henry was married and living with his young family with his cousins family which included my Grand father. My Grand Fathers brother born in 1871 was also a Chandelier maker. Wish I could point you in the right direction. Dave. |

Thanks Georgina - yes i am pretty sure it is Emma's brother - so not all the Birmingham glassblowers had disappeared on that night!! I did find the France family on the 1861 census under the name Flower - it is definitely them - just misreading of bad handwriting but alas still no closer to finding the Ingrams and my Frances in 1881. Thanks again - it is another building block which is gratefully received. Karen |
