Has anyone managed to Copy Paste to Notes on FTM 2006? I have tried but it will not allow me. I have looked in the help section and it gives this information, which makes me think you can do it but no matter what I do I can't Paste to notes. To copy text: 1. Highlight the text that you want to copy by clicking it with your mouse pointer and dragging over it. You cannot select partial lines of text, only whole lines. In addition, if you want to select more text than is visible in the text window, just keep dragging. The text window will scroll as you drag. 2. Release the mouse button. The text is now on the Clipboard. 3. From the Edit menu, select Copy (ALT, E, C). You may now paste the text anywhere you like, such as a Family Tree Maker Notes dialog box or a word processor. |

Hi Just highlighting the appropriate text won't put it onto the clipboard, you actually have to 'copy'. You can either do this by right clicking the highlighted text and chosing 'copy' or by pressing ALT and C at the same time. Now the info is on the clipboard. then you can go to wherever you want to paste it and either right click and choose 'paste' or press ALT and V. Sam x |

I'm not sure - I'm confused by your message now. Where are you trying to copy from? |

I have various files in my documents where I save all my information, as in Census refs Addresses and such like I wanted to transfer the info to the notes section on FTM. I've started doing it manually now but I was sure you should be able to Copy and Paste. Sorry I do find things hard to explain lol |

Using FTM 2005, I could copy & paste to the notes section. However with FTM 2006 no window pops up when I right click to paste BUT if I press Ctrl + V after copying selected tect it WILL appear on my notes! Good luck! Bridget |
