I am adopted and the only way I found to do it was to marry my sister - purely cosmetic I can assure you ! Seems to be a weakness in most genealogy software for some reason. You can have dozens of brothers and sisters but not 4 parents ! Simon

You can't show two sets of parents on GR,the only way would be to put something in the notes section. Glen

Put him or her in twice then, just make sure you put it in the notes part that its the same person. R x

it was both families as on the 1891 census the child is listed as adopted but by 1901 he had returned to his birth family which appear to be related to the adoptive family. all very confusing really. Kym really need to have both families in the tree as there are siblings of both families

is it the adoptive family in your tree or the birth family? Either way I would add the child to whichever family it is in your tree and make it clear in the notes part what happened. Adoption wasnt legally formalised in 1927 I think. R
