Lovely Dea, many thanks. Not as exciting as I had hoped, but interesting none the less. I wonder what he was doing until 11pm, that needed permission? Lynn :-) |

Hi, It is the writing I am having difficulty with - not so much the language but: It is a permit to allow the Soldier of the English Red Cross - F Stowell to remain outside the barracks every night until 23.00 hours. Dea x |

I don't read Italian but I do read Spanish which in many ways is very similar - If no-one else can help, I would be happy to try for you. - Have sent you my e-mail address. Dea x |

Thanks Philip, I have had some joy with the translater, that you suggested, but some words aren't translating, I am probably reading them wrong. So if anyone could just take a look, I'd be grateful. So far it looks like a permission slip for leave I think. Thanks Lynn |

We have found a interesting letter, kept with my grandfather's WW1 medals, but it is written in Italian and I wondered if there was anyone out there who might be able to translate it for me. It is only short and mentions his name and I recognized the word soldier. If anyone can help, pm me your email address and I will send you a copy. Many many thanks in advance. Lynn |
