As I have already said. The GRO are NOT going to start folding certs when the new post office pricing changes take place. That is why they are using TNT. To have continued using the Royal Mail they would have had to fold them or put up the price of certs. My original question was about an overseas cert which is obviously dealt with by a different department. Repeat! They are not going to start folding the certs. |

I do hope they wont start sending them out folded - it was something I was wondering about the other day. At the moment I tend to run a list of certificates needed and then bulk order, so 10 are difficult to fold anyway. |

I have noticed that when I order cert's online I get them delivered late by TNT. When I order over the phone, I get them on time from Royal Mail !! ? !! Pen x |

No, that's why they are using TNT so that they don't have to fold them. The GRO told me that in a recent email. |

When the new postal sizes come into operation at the end of the month, i expect all certs will come in an A5 envelope. |

Christine The email I received from the GRO a few weeks ago, said that they were using TNT to avoid folding the certs when the new pricing policy came into force. |

Received a marriage cert today, unfolded, by TNT, so looks as though it's only the 'odd certs'. Mavis |

Hi Zoe I wondered if it was because they were from different indexes. I have ordered normal ones as well, they havent arrived yet. I knew there wasnt too much info on these war certs, but now I'm not sure if I have the right man. It says he was 21, if it's who I wanted it to be he would have been 33. An unusual name too, Joseph Farrell Calpin from York. |

I've had two certificates from outwith the normal indexes - both war deaths. Bothe were modern handwriten transcriptions and bot arrived folded. I don't know if it's beacuse a different area of the GRO deals with it or if it's because they are recorded in a different manner They have very little information I mean - one of them didn't even have the soldiers first name despite the fact he died back in England being treated for wounds!! |

Are the GRO not using NTL anymore? I received a cert today that was folded in two. It was an overseas one though from WW1. The first I've ever ordered. It was also a hand written transcription |
