Either of her marriage certificates should state her father's name and occupation, unless of course she didn't know who her father was... Kate.

also, have you tried finding a baptism - sometimes they tell you who the father is. I have one where the father isn;t on the birth cert but is on the baptismal entry.

Have you sent for her birth cert or her marriage cert, these may give you the infor that you need? Where was she from/born Joanne

If you know the date of birth of your great gran, have you tried ordering her birth certificate in order to get the names of her parents?

I have no idea what to try next, My ggran Susan Murdoch dob 29.01.1887, can not find her father, her mother Elizabeth Murdochdob not sure, my ggran married james mitchell, then married my ggrandad william lee dob 29.01.1890, in Dundee, can anyone give me ideas to try please, thanks.
