Does anyone know why I can't use the internet part of FTM2006? It brings results up but all are 'padlocked' apart from 1881 and it tells me I need to subscribe to Ancestry. I already have an Ancestry subscription, how do I get FTM to recognise this? Sam x

I had this problem Sam. Give them a ring on 080040497232, they are really helpful. Sue

Elaine, I have just tried that, it just took me through to ancestry to start a new subscription, I didn't get the option to enter details of my existing subscription. Sue, I think I'll have to give that a go! Sam x

From the FTM help centre FTM 2005-2006: Web Search doesn't recognize Ancestry.com subscription Question I have a subscription to Ancestry.com, but when I try to access it through Family Tree Maker's Web Search feature, I get the message 'You're missing out!' and it asks me to subscribe. Answer Cause: If you are not able to view the search results for the Ancestry.com subscription you own, you may have registered your copy of Family Tree Maker with a different email address than the one used with your Ancestry.com subscription. Steps for resolution: 1. Open Family Tree Maker 2. Click on Help. 3. Click on Register Family Tree Maker. 4. Proceed with the registration. When asked for an email address make sure that you use the one listed on your Ancestry.com subscription. 5. When prompted, enter the password associated with your Ancestry.com subscription.

It's not because you're getting American and Canadian sites is it, they show as padlocked if you only have UK ancestry membership. You can customise the searches to just show UK results by going to the drop down screen at the top and selecting customise.

When you tried to register your FTM did you use the same email address and password as your Ancestry subscription ? They must match!
