Wouldnt he have been born c1852 Yvonne? Well, we cant rely on his age anyway - may have just been a guess by informant. Probably worth you getting the death cert for £7 just to see who in informant was and what his occupation is shown as which will give some extra clues. You will also hopefully get his address which MAY help for the 1851 census which has so much more detail than the 1841. With a bit of luck his wife may still be living and be there. But Walter, have to say, why arent you working backwards to this man? Normally you would have found say, his childrens marriage cert and then found his name on that? Why have you only the death info?

Have found this one on 1841 census Ann Page abt 1786 Sussex, England Bexhill Sussex Caroline Page abt 1829 Sussex, England Bexhill Sussex Edwin Page abt 1826 Sussex, England Bexhill Sussex Jesse Page abt 1826 Sussex, England Bexhill Sussex John Page abt 1776 Sussex, England Bexhill Sussex - Occ. Ag. Lab - he may be yours - but without some other information it is going to be very difficult to be sure. Where does he fit into your tree ?

I wonder if this could be his death registration Deaths Jun 1849 Page John Amersham 6 232 Walter, his death certificate might provide additional information which would help trace him on the 1841 census

The person I am trying to trace is John Page. I have no idea of where he was born and what hoping that I might find that out. He died in Coleshill, Hertfordshire on June 15, 1849 and was aged 87 years. He is buried in St Mary's Church, Amersham, Bucks as at that time there was not a church in Coleshill. Coleshill is now part of Bucks but at that time it was in Herts. I was really hoping to find where he was born. I have this idea he might have been born in Bexhill or surrounds in Sussex and was trying to find out.
