Hi Dea, Yes thats the one I'm looking at. I've been trying to fit Thomas and Mary Ann into my tree (without much success I should add!) I've been lucky that my Dudley ancestors rooted themselves in Foleshill in the 18th century and showed no signs of the wanderlust which seems to affect the other branches!. I was hoping that if I could tie Thomas in it might help me get back beyond another Thomas b abt 1740 who also married a Mary (Carpenter). Mark

Do I presume your Thomas was the one who married Mary Smith? Dea x

Sorry Mark, It is either 'dead', or more probably 'decd' / 'desd' - i.e. deceased - either way, it is the same thing !!! Dea x

Hi, I received a photocopied marriage cert today. The bride's father's Rank or Profession seems to say 'dead', but if so the first 'd' is lower case and seems wrong (I'd have expected deceased anyway). Would anybody be prepared to have a look at the scan for me? Mark
