Just be careful of submitted entries. While some are correct, I have some that are obviously made up. I think sometimes some people find for instance a Joe Smith born 1720 and a John Smith married 1715 and assume it is the same family.

It was a submitted entry for his marriage to mary tearn with approx birth date tacked on. If I back track to that date, just get his marriage again. Think I will go a little way with my hunch, and see where I get to

Lynda, was it a submitted or extracted entry. If it was extracted I'd say it was a marriage. If so, try going back about twenty years and look for a Birth/Christening. Keep trying around that time and place. With a common name you can't be sure. The best way is to go and look at the records yourself. If that's not possible see if someone is offering to look up these records. I'm in Australia so it's hard for me, and people have been wonderful.

The only place I have been able to find any info on the rellie I am looking for, John Lacey brn abt 1753 Bromsgrove worcs, is with his wife Mary Tearn on the LDS site. It does'nt state his parents, but I beleive them to be Thomas Lacey and Ann Wagstaff. How can I verify this?
