Census Searching by address

1861 and 1891 census can be searched by address at 1837online*com. 1881 census can be searched by address at ancestry*co.uk 1901 census can be searched by address at www.1901census.nationalarchives.gov.uk Richard

Thanks so much Linda! I knew I had been there somewhere before, but it is quite tricky to find something when you can't remember the exact combination of moves and the right order! Mandy

In ancestry, which I use, go to the search page. Then choose a specific census from the list on the side, say 1851 England. When the new search box opens up, scroll down and choose the county you want from the list at the bottom of the page, then choose the place name and then you will see the enumeration districts which you can scroll through Linda

I remember at some point searching one of the geneaology sites for an address and being able to search the town or village itself rather than by name and person. I can't remember for the life of me where I did this or how! Does anyone know? Thanks, Mandy
