You could try by surname only in your search and put either a year with +/- say 5 years,or put an area. Then look if the tree owners name appears several times. Glen |

I think if it was that easy, the security of people's data would be compromised, and everyone would complain about harvesting of names. J |

It doesn't look like there's an easy way to do it - thanks for everyone's input. Jeannie |

You wrote 'I thought there was a way of just viewing another member's list of family names without actually having access to their family tree.' Do you mean Shared Trees? Don't think you can do it with membership numbers. Val |

All I can think of is if say 'John Bloggs' put your ancestor on his tree, it'd come up in the search. So any identical surnames with John Bloggs as the entrant would obviously be off his tree - which could then be entered by you onto your tree. |

I thought of that Keith, I was just wondering if there was short cut and I thought I had seen messages about it before on this message board. |

Long winded method I know, but have you tried searching for another name off your tree and checking if the same member number has them on their tree? Keith |

I have found the name of a possible ancestor on the search list under surname and I just was wondering if I could list the other names that appear for that member's family tree. |

I thought there was a way of just viewing another member's list of family names without actually having access to their family tree. |

Wouldnt that mean someone could change or even delete your ancestors? |

I'm sure that this has been asked before but could someone tell me if it is possible to list another member's family names using their membership number. Many thanks Jeannie |
