Oh...silly me...I can see a connection right away now. If Phebe Wackett b 1821 Essendon Herts ended up as a Kerboy/Kirby...then that has to fit with the marriage entry of 1845 doesn't it... Or is my brain befuddled? |

Glitter Baby - That fits with the 1841 Census family I found - Phebe Wackett born 1821 Essendon Herts. And I think I've found the same woman on the 1871 census living with her married daughter Lydia and family. But how do we know it's the right woman if we can't find James Kirby? My brain is hurting over this one LOL |

Sorry, have been searching non-stop but can't find the couple on the 1851 or 1861 census. Perhaps a fresh pair of eyes might help if someone else could have a go. Perhaps James Kirby died before the 1851 census... At least now you know who you need to be searching for on the census. By the way - where did you find Phebe's birth details from? I did a search on the 1841 census and the only one I found was born 1821 Herts. Regards Athena |

If you have her sister's marriage cert then you will know what Phoebe's maiden name was. If you let us have that maybe we could search for a possible marriage for her in the same location or thereabouts. |

Hello again All I have on her is that she was born 1819 at Hatfield and she was a witness to her sisters wedding in 1852 and it said her name was Phoebe Kirby and I was told that she was sister to bride. nothing else to go on as yet. |

Are either of those two mentioned above your Phoebe? If not, do you know her husbands name and I'll look again for you. |

Do you mean Kirby was her married name? If she was born 1818 then by 1851 I presume she would have been married. If Kirby was her maiden name, then you need to find a marriage for her first before looking on the 1851. (unless of course she didn't marry!) By the way, there are these two showing up as wives: Phebe Kirby (spouse Peter) abt 1814 Tring, Hertfordshire, England Wife Tring Hertfordshire Phebe Korby (spouse Henry) abt 1813 Hailsham, Sussex, England Wife Brighton Sussex |
