Hi thanks for all comments Christine - I've looked at Parish records - you are right very good - have actually found 2 of the lot I'm after on there which really answered some questions, back in 1820s they were in Whitechapel, (am waiting for the next batch of St Marys in Whitechapel to come out)but I can't find what happened to the Grandfather of those 2 baptised, we know most of family came from Cornwall sometime around 1810 - obviously 1st census 1841 which shows the wife of missing Grandfather in St George's, Tower Hamlets, which I understand, the death cert. info. I've seen for this guy is for St. Georges Southwark in 1840, shame they didn't show ages as that would help, just wondered if family was there at that time - may have to buy to confirm one way or another - thanks again Gill :)) |

Thanks for replies, I did think 2 diff. areas, just hoping as both St. George's - my lot def. in St George's East - this guy was born around 1770s in Cornwall, I have his wife on 1841 with one of their sons, but we cannot find what happened to him - just thought I would try to see if any death records in London area, nothing in the Cornwall one but of course could have died pre. 1837 so no records likely to be found. Thanks for offer of a look up but will leave until another day - as have loads of other things on the go - just came across this death info. thought it might be worth a quick look - thanks again Gill |

Ok - have family (without husband) on 1841 census, in Parish St. Georges Middx, but says Tower Hamlets, have found death record for (possible husband) in 1840 which would explain why not on 1841 census ! in St. Georges Southw. (presume Southwark) on Death register, is this likely to be the same Parish?? I thought Southwark was South London - think will have to buy Cert. but does anyone know if same place. thanks Gill :)) |
