I know that feeling... I found a record which I think could just be about my (long-lost) grandfather - who was reputed to have skipped off to USA instead of coming home from WW1. The name is slightly unusual and the birthdate is an exact match. I've just put an application in the post for a copy of his Social Securiy Number application. My request has to get there, be dealt with and be sent back before I can see the result (which may not even be relevant) - but I want it NOW! This is a man my father probably didn't really know (he left when my father was at most a toddler) - and certainly none of the rest of us knew. My father and his brother were almost certainly better off with the revised outcome (their stepfather appears to have been a very special man), even if the short-term effect was a bit catastrophic for them. The man of the record I found died in 1967. What difference will a few days make? - even a few weeks? But I still want it now - no rationale seems to work to put me off the feeling that I am now WAITING. Christine

I was up til 3am also - reading the book I had bought to amuse myself over the next two days as i'm off from work So it's my own fault I'm bored - I just can't get up the enthusiasm to tidy the office or hang the shelves in the bedroom

found someone on Norfolk Roots searching the same Dickleburgh family as me - and despite the fact I know she's Down Under and therefore in bed I still keep checking my email every two minutes. I must go occupy my mind elsewhere.
