10/06/1812 Marriage: Lately, Mr Thomas EVISON, upwards of 30 years gardener at the Hotel in Skegness aged upwards of 70 years, to the Widow ELLIS aged 42 - she has been married three times within the last ten years - her first husband was aged about 72 and the second, 75 years.

1795 MARSTON FEAST - We the inhabitants of MARSTON, near Grantham, having duly considered the bad consequences attending Country Wakes and Feasts, which, tho originally intended for Religious Meetings, are now quite perverted, serving chiefly to encourage Drunkenness the Inlet of Vice and Prophaneness; and further considering that the present alarming high Prices of Provisions, must nearly involve every poor Family in insurmountable Debts and difficulties; which to prevent and keep our Parishioners from such Embarrassments, as well as to check the rapid Growth of Vice and Immorality, we have unanimously agreed to discontinue our ANNUAL FEAST and to give this Public NOTICE, of our Resolution to abolish it. 1790 Marriage: On Thursday last was married at Donington, Richard NICHOLS, (commonly called ´Saucy Nichols´) aged 71 to Ann DIXON aged 22. The good old man, hoping to avoid the ridicule of the multitude, led his Bride elect along a bye lane to the Church.

1783 Death: At Bonby, near Barton, Lincolnshire, W KIRBY, aged 102. He was a labouring man, but for the last five or six years looked after cattle; and what was very remarkable, he could leap over the cart dikes with a pole about three years ago. He retained his senses to the last.

TWO GUINEAS REWARD. Whereas MARK WALLER, Labourer (standing about 5 ft 10 ins high, stout made, blind of one eye which causes him to squint, 30 years of age) did on the 12th of February last, ABSCOND with ANN ADKIN, Wife of JOHN ADKIN, keeper of a beer and grocer´s shop at Wainfleet Bank, taking with them upwards of Twenty Pounds in cash, besides Blankets, Sheets, etc. The said ANN ADKIN stands about 5 ft 6 ins high, has dark red hair with a fair complexion and stomps when she walks. Whoever will apprehend the said Mark WALLER and Ann ADKIN and lodge them in any one of Her Majesty´s Gaols, and give information to me, shall receive the above Reward. Wainfleet, February 27th 1838, JOHN ADKIN.
