According to Ogilvy's Roads, (not sure of date because title page is missing, but preface is dated 1804), Paulton Park was the seat of Lord Mendip. No idea who he was or what his family name was, but maybe someone has Burke's Peerage or similar to hand and could enlighten us? Otherwise try Google. Roger Update Have found a piece on Google about Shelford Church in Notts., which has quite a lot about him.

hi can someone search for who lived at paultons park i believe my rellie was a gardener there but was just curious to who the family was,i tried searching 1901 online but i tried wiltshire and hampshire but no luck,can anyone give me any tips please. i know all thats left is the garden and cellars but i dont know when it was last lived in. i know its a long shot but who knows lol. thanks in advance. karen
