I am offering burial look ups, but am having real problems with people asking about London. My discs are arranged with City of London as one category, which covers 26 churches, very central I assume. After that I only have counties to choose from. I know that nowadays there is Greater London, but that is not a choice on my discs. Being a northerner, I have absolutely no idea about “down south”. So can any one tell me which counties would have ringed the City of London. At the moment when I am asked about Fulham, Wandsworth, Tooting etc, I have no idea where to start looking. Linda |

Middlesex covers the area north of the Thames, and Surrey and Kent south of the Thames (approximately). So your examples are all probably in Surrey. Essex covers part of east London north of the Thames. J |

Thank you very much, I will look at the site and at least now I know which counties to choose from. It just confirms that London is to be avoided at all costs. Gods own county of Yorkshire is a much nicer place to be. I need to get back to the other board, they are adding requests faster than I can cope with them. Linda |
