Has anyone applied for any? I'm interested to know how they compare with English ones ~ whether address is given as Townland (like on the birth certificates I've had so far rather than actual streets and towns/villages) and what other details it gives particularly if informant and their relationship to deceased is shown. I have a couple of possible deaths but the certificates from Northern Ireland are now are £11. Teresa |

Hi Teresa I have some Death Certificates from Ireland, mainly Dublin and they are much like our English ones. The have the home address, age of the deceased and the informant etc. Some of them died in hospitals and the Workhouse and the informants were from those establishments...not relatives...mores the pity. They also say whether they are a widow/er or not but do not give their spouse's name. Regards...Teresa...spelt the same way too! |

Hi Teresa, thank you for the reply. Ive got a death from some gravestone inscriptions for three gg grandparents who I'm pretty sure are mine, and when I've raided the childrens piggy banks I'll order two of them with fingers crossed that they have a helpful informant. One of them should be in the filmed records at the Belfast family history centre (its 1868) so I'll have a look at that one when I go over in November. Best wishes Teresa |

The Republic of Ireland ones cost next to nothing compared to the UK. |
