Thinking about this he was going to be like 60 in 1944 some how I dont think he would have been involved in the fighting efforts! Hmmm so he must have died in this country and I know he was based around the Brentford/Staines Middlesex areas and I cant find anything for his death. Did the listing of deaths get slack during the second world war? jenny

If you think he may have been a soldier, then his death will be on the commonwaelth war grave comission site i gave above. If he was just abroad, then ancestry dooes not have overseas deaths, but there is a section for that on the 1837 site, but it is pay to view Linda

I've looked at the deaths for 1944 and I can't find a William Daniel Heath, although there are quite a few William Heath's without the middle initial. Do you know where he died and how old he would have been? He is not on the Commonwealth War Graves site. For army deaths abroad you need to look on 1837online, but if he died abroad with the army, I would have expected him to be on the CWGC site. Kath. x

See this is my problem... I dont actually know we forgot to ask my prospective father in law that one! Also dont know his birth place or date lol trying to skip ahead. Have his marriage certificate on order so suppose ill have to wait for that. I have searched through all the records on the BMD for 1944 for HEATH. Just out of interest where do i look for deaths abroad I am a member of ancestry is the somewhere on there? thanks Jenny

Hi I am looking for a death record for a William Daniel Heath who I have been informed died in 1944 I was told this by my partner Daniels father and this was his grandfather. He seemed pretty sure of the dates. Regards Jenny
