Myra Pauline Varker Vincent is my grandma who alsways said that her mother was a Curtis. Once her birth certificate arrived her mother was a Vincent which confused me and some of us on here. Grandma also said that she had 2 brothers called Dudley and Clifford which confused me and others on here when i ordered Dudley and Cliffords birth certificate and it said that there mother was Hilda Curtis. After all this time (not long compared to some of you) i have made the connection. Myras mum was called Eris as stated on the birth certificate but she never knew her father. As Eris had Alsimers (sp?) at a very early age Eris asked her mother to adopt Myra. Eris mum is called Hilda. So as Myra was given up for adoption she always called Hilda mum, even though Eris still lived with them until she passed away. Myra frowns at this i think because 1 her real mum never married and 2 her real mother never looked after her. The thing i find strange is she classes Clifford and Dudley as her brothers but the other 4 children i have she classes as uncles/aunts which is weird. Sorry it's a bit confusing and i'm not the greatest at explaining but thanks to your help i have managed to get this far in my tree. I am now just going to see if i can find any idea of who the father is as he is not on the birth certificate but think his surname is Varker. Thanks again Jen |

In case you ever need to look it up, the word you're looking for is Alzheimer's. I think it was the surname of the doctor who first identified the separate symptoms. Christine |

did Eris have Myra quite young, not long after hilda had the boys? i guess maybe they grew up together. my dad always said his eldest sister was more like an Aunt ( although he knew she was his sister ) as she was away in service when he was born , and then she married so they never actually lived in the same household jess |

Thanks for the correct spelling Christine. Jess Myra was born in 1928 and Clifford and Dudley were born 1920 and 1923 so they were aroud the same age to class themselves as brother and sister which would explain it. Maybe thats why she doesn't class the others as brothers/sisters as they were older. I haven't found there births yet but this is what i am guessing now you have said this. Thanks Jen |
