Well val, I can imagine them ringing up and saying, since someone else has fiddled with it your guarantee doesnt stand. But as you say, it wasnt a cheapie one - cost about £900 I think and if you got say a washing machine or something you would expect it to be trouble free for at least a few years. If they do come back with that I shall ring Trading Standards I think. |

Heather you will find that if you reported a fault before the guarantee ran out and it wasnt fixed properly then your guarantee still stands as it is not when it finally goes wrong but from the time the fault was reported, please dont let them fob you off demand a new PC or a complete overhaul at least. You should also ask for the money back it has cost you to sort it out.A PC should last a lot longer than a year anyway.BE FIRM STAND YOUR GROUND |

Bacadi, I have had this one just over a year. In the first weeks I rang them and said it was incredibly noisy. Id had one from same company - MESH - for 5 year before this one and had no probs at all. They told me the noise was due to the extra cooling fans. The noise and a lot of clicking etc continued and in the end I rang them and they said it was just a fan. I asked them if it could be the hard drive as Id put a message on here and several peeps said all the clicking was a duff hard drive. No, they said its the fan. At that time I still had the one year on site warranty so after a lot of faffing where they kept losing my addy etc. a chap came out. I asked him to check if it was the hard drive. But as far as I could see, he just whipped out a fan and replaced it and said job done. Well it was still clicking and banging and then just after the year on site warranty ran out - sods law or what - it packed up. I rang them, spent about £15 on their soft ware line and was told to take the pc for the hard drive to be backed up and then ring them back to be told how to reinstall windows. So carry the damn thing to town and then the shop rings up, cant back up hard drive because its failed totally. Rang MESH they said send it all back but it will be 15 days away. So I went back to shop, said you do it, I cant have 15 days without puter. They put in a new hard drive. I sent that to MESH and they sent me another one - gawd knows what I am going to do with it. Then I kept getting 'out of range' messages. Back to shop - turns out video card is faulty. They are so sick of seeing me they replaced it free. I ring up MESH, video card gone. Same story, send it all back etc. So I say, just send me card. Whilst Im waiting for that - the puter sounds like a jet engine taking off every time I put it on. Ring pc shop, let them listen over phone - tell me that the bearings in one of the fans has gone. I am so p*** off. Rang MESH who have said do you want a new fan or send it all back. Well Im tempted just to have the fan but I thought say something else packs up after that. So now Im waiting for them to ring to say when they can pick it up. I shall be so annoyed if they get out of it because Ive had work done locally. |

PC is still being a pain. So Im coming on here for a few mins at a time. It looks like the whole caboodle is going to have to go back to the company so I may not have it for 2 weeks. Just to let you know that Im not ignoring anyone if I dont answer as Im having to limit my time and of course 2 weeks - how will I manage???? |
