He is not down as Lancelot Wells. At the same time I did a search of the 1901 census for all Lancelots born in Derbyshire. He didn't figure. He was born in Litchurch Derby, (reg dist Derby 7b) in 1864 (about). He was still living there in 1891 after marrying. That is the 1891 entry I have for him. I searched the GRO using 1837.com Do we think he has done a runner? Thanks for all these suggestions by the way! |

I'll check now! I hadn't thought of that. It is Twells but I have a GEELING as well and you wouldn't believe some of the versions and transcriptions of that. S |

Have you checked for Lancelot Wells? I couldn't find two ancestor's deaths and it turned out that their names had been misspelled on the death certificates. Gordon |

I have LANCELOT TWELLS on the 1891 census married to Annie. On the 1901 Census Annie is listed as a widow. I have searched BMD for a death for said LANCELOT TWELLS and I can't find him! He is not else where on the Census so where is? Could he just have run off or were certificated sometimes not sent in? |
