Hi a while ago I saw a great tip for seaching on family search. It was a way of entering the parents and getting the children listed. Any ideas. Thanks Matthew

Matthew I'd try entering LDS in the search box on here and see what comes up. Looby

Matthew - once you find the baptism record you are looking for, go down to the bottom of the page,. make a note of the parents names and double click on the batch number. This will bring up a new screen. Put in parents names, births/baptisms and I usually put in the date of the 'found child' with 10 years either side. Just click search and it should bring up the births of any other children of that couple baptised in the same church. Happy hunting Victoria

Victoria, you've obviously had some luck with this - whenever I go onto LDS I never seem to get it to work - you put in name of person fill in parents names and other info. and then hit search and it comes up with nothing - what am I doing wrong, OR am I supposed to have the Baptism reference already?? I thought that was what I would beable to find - possibly doing something (or not doing something) really stupid but have sort of given up with LDS as I never seem to get result!

Victoria is explaining how to get the siblings once you have found one child. When you go to IGI, put in the name and give a span of say 5 years either side of the date you think is the birth - kids were often baptised when they were older. Once you have found one child, as Victoria explained, you then have a batch no. that that child was in - look down the bottom of the entry - using that batch no. you can then go back to a search, enter the parents names and often bring up several siblings of the child.
