1901 Census: Why aren't the children transcribed.

I have this record that i'm pretty sure is the one I'm looking for but at first I almost skipped over it as I knew that the couple in question had children at this point. When you look at the household members near the bottom it only shows Husband and Wife, yet when you look at the original it shows children also. I'm wondering why they would have skipped the kids when they transcribed, although it does explain why I couldn't find 5 year old annie when I was looking before. (Thanks lindy for helping break through THAT brick wall!) Record to follow....

I've had a family where they are split over 2 pages, (loads of kids!) and those on the second page haven't been transcribed. Just goes to show how useful it is, being able to view the actual images & skip backwards & forwards.

Hi Vicki, That i could understand but on this one they're all there on the same page, right next to each other. Is there any way I can get it fixed to reflect every member of the household?

hiya, i would suggest you email ancestry with cens details and ask them if they could ammend it, as you can clearly see children on census return, and also they dont appear on page with all others on same page, ie a breakdown of all people on that cens return, is what i would do anyway HTH Julie
