exporting and importing family tree

I've tried what was suggested, but it didn't take on board all the information. There were complete families missing. I shall try again though, I will not be detered !!! Thanks for everyones help. Lynda

I must admit I've never done it in that direction. Tips re file naming still apply though. J

I think you will find that exporting no longer works that way. GR Email the file to you. To export your family tree as a Gedcom file, click the button below. Your Gedcom file will be emailed to [email protected] once it has been prepared. Click here to change your sign-in email address.

You export your tree from GR to your computer as a GEDCOM file. GR will let you choose the destination folder. If necessary change the name of the file if it clashes with any of your existing FTM files. I tend to include today's date in my GEDCOMs to keep track of them. Then open FTM and using FILE / OPEN , find your new file and open it. All wikll be revealed. If you then save it, it will be saved as a FTM or FTW file. J
