I see people asking for help with locating family members on here and I think I will go and have a look. By the time I get back to the thread they have had loads of replies. Why am I so slow. I go to the census image/birth etc and write it all on a piece of paper then come back on here to type it all out. You lot must be speedy writers. Jayne |

We don't write it down... we copy-and-paste it (errors and all!). Even then, there are some folks quicker than others. Christine |

Lol. I think most peeps have 2 different sites up, then cut and paste the info. I've tried it too, but I'm still too slow. :) Bex |

How do you copy and paste. I know how to switch a computer on, come on this site,go and search on ancestry, print and read and send emails. Other than that Ive had it. I am what you call 'Computer Illeterate' Jayne |

To copy hold down the left mouse button and run the cursor over the text you want to copy. It will turn blue. Release and right click on the blue text. Select 'Copy' by left clicking on the word. Put the cursor where you want the text. Right click and select 'Paste'. The place you paste it to can be in the same document, another document, a web site; etc. |

Just an addendum: If you want to copy the whole of a piece of text then go Edit/Select All. That will highlight it all in one go rather than having to drag the mouse across it. Use the mouse if you only want to copy part of the text. You can do other things with the highlighted text: Delete; change font; change alignment; and so on. |
