These appear to be the corresponding entries on Kent BMD only Cranbrook doesn't include Tunbridge Wells and it's transcribed there as Sarah, not as Jane... Name: GOODWIN, Frederick, , Year of Marriage: 1858 Entry Number: 43 Register: CRO1 Location: TUNBRIDGE WELLS Name: GOODSELL, Sarah, , Year of Marriage: 1858 Entry Number: 43 Register: CRO1 Location: TUNBRIDGE WELLS same ref = same marriage (County refs aren't the same as GRO refs) on the other hand, that ref ''CR01' - is that ''CR'' as in ''Cranbrook''?? UPDATE - probably ok - Cranbrook's ''Registers now in Tunbridge Wells'' according to Genuki. Christine |

Thank you. I have made the schoolboy error of assuming that as Freebmd is 'sponsored' by Ancestry and Ancestry refer to Freebmd searches that they share databases. Lesson learnt. Cheers. Rob |

Cas, thats brilliant. Could well be the one as Jane Goodsell was one of my candidates. That doesn't seem to come up on Ancestry - where did you find it? Thanks. Rob |

Per 1861 Census Frederick (Fredk) Goodwin Born 1836 Hawkhurst, Kent and Jane Goodwin Born 1834 Salehurst Sussex (and Louisa, my G Gran, 1860 Hawkhurst). Source Citation: Class: RG9; Piece: 508; Folio: 83; Page: 8; GSU roll: 542652. In 1851 Frederick was living with his parents. I cannot, however, see the marriage between Frederick and Jane (presumably some time in the 1850s) anywhere. Can somebody more skillfull than me find it? Thanks. Rob |
