If I am not sure of parents names then I usually put Unknown as the first name, then the known surname. I can then add chidren. |

Hi Glen - thanks I have downloaded my GR tree as a Gedcom and uploaded to Ancestry, and still cannot get people to appear as siblings - only as children of their parents - Other than that, the tree is great! Joan |

One post which may be the answer was deleted from this thread.!!(really helps anyone in the future when thread searching) Solution could be to download your GR tree as a gedcom, then upload the gedcom to ancestry. Glen |

Without parents it is difficult, you could start another tree for each sibling, but of course then you cannot show the family as a complete group, and who is uncle to who etc. ********************************************* Could you make up a set of parents, put down all the children then delete the parents? That might be a workaround for the problem. I am trying to build my tree on Ancestry. The problem is, I cannot see how to add siblings - I can add children, therefore in order to add a sibling, I have first to have the sibling's parents in the tree, and then add the sibling as a child. Hope this makes sense! Joan |
