Ian, everything is updated, but what are patches? I've never heard of those before.

Have you made sure all the latest patches and updates have been installed?

I have XP too and never had a problem with it. I tend to make slideshows of my latest and/or favourite photos - it's lovely when your doing something else just to catch the odd photo out the corner of your eye and be reminded of a nice time. Snowdrops

I also have XP no problems at all. Reb, that sounds just beautiful, where on earth did you find it. JoJo

I have xp pro and have never had a problem. ln fact l currently have a lovely screensaver, a rocking chair in front of an open roaring fire with a grandfather clocking tcking away. The clock actually shows real time too. Perfect for the middle of winter.

If it new and it cannot be fixed then they should supply you with a new pc. Good luck Irene

I can't get screen saver to work full stop, let alone downloading one.

I have XP and have never had a problem with screen savers. If I have a picture or photograph that I would like as my screen saver I just click on save as screen saver and there it is until I want to change it again. Irene

Got our new pc last week but I can't get the screen saver to work, we've had the shop out to look at it today and they can't sort it either. Someone my hubby works with said this is common on the lastest XP's and there is nothing you can do about it.*********Anyone else have this problem?
