Hi, Years ago, whilst working on an off shore island, (you don,t seem to get many ON shore islands , do you!!), I met a lady who introduced herself as Miss Lamb. ' I bet you can,t guess what my christian name is', she said. After a time she said 'its Minty'. She was really quite proud of it. All of you on the Island that recognise the name.....greetings from Mick Davie. |

I had a Fanny Price marrying Hubert or Herbert Horne and Julia Lusty marrying Hugh Trollope. In neither case did they make the name double baralled. I also found Eustace Pike the other day. |

Sorry but I couldnt find any of the other threads relating to our poor ancestors who's parents maybe should have thought a bit harder before naming their children.... The worst one in my tree so far has to be.... Name: Fanny Bean Corser Year of Registration: 1845 Quarter of Registration: Jul-Aug-Sep District: Lichfield County: Staffordshire Volume: 17 Page: 76 (click to see others on page) My partner told me it was an internet joke till I told him where I found it. Bless her cotton socks. Hope she didnt marry a man called smoother! |
