Hi. Didn't see your other posting, I was looking 'around'. I can try to send the census images to you, if you'd like to pm me. I can try to look for others, if you like? |

Thank you Lisa. What great photos. Sad and shocking but the photos are great. |

Elizabeth: In the event the above David is yours, he and Elizabeth are found on the 1910 as well. In 1900, they were living on 'Powell Street' and if I'm reading the census correctly, they are between Ellis and Eddy Streets. I've found a photograph of that area, taken right after the 1906 earthquake: http://bettyslist*com/gallery/Earthquake-Women-Photos (replace * with .) 'Women sifting through rubble of a structure at the corner of Ellis and Powell looking Northwest.' |

David Kirkby Farr born Sept 1852 Monmouthshire, Wales and Agnes Elizabeth Farr born1850 Monmouthshire, Wales. They were children of Henry Farr and Elizabeth Naylor Ariel. There were several other children, but I think I have them, although a couple are missing, but as children so presume they died early. I don't know David's occupation but the family were all solicitors or surgeons(except Mary who had a baby at age 27, and forgot to marry first). It is 2.30 afternoon here in Brisbane. Thanks. |

Elizabeth, do you know when he was born? A friend has access to Ancestry. There is a David and Elizabeth, I believe on the 1900 census. This David was born in 1854. |

Hi Lisa, Yes that's him. I googled his name and that came up, which was great as I was trying to see what happened to the family. The sister mentioned was Agnes Elizabeth Farr who married a John Wright in England in1875. I can't find her in the 1881 English census but her brother David is still in England. I've never searched the US before. I tried the Ellis Island site but didn't seem to get anything, and tried that San Francisco website but nothing there yet. It's a great site though. I only have Ancestry for UK. Also I live in Australia so there is a big time difference. Thanks. |

Is this the person for which you are looking? http://www.sfgenealogy*com/sf/vitals/sfobifa.htm (replace * with .) 'FARR--Entered into rest in this city November 18, 1916, David Kirkby FARR, dearly beloved husband of Elizabeth FARR and brother of Agnes E. WRIGHT, a native of Newport, Monmonthshire, England. Source: Daily San Francisco Call & Post, 20 Nov 1916, p. 14.' This site has a lot of San Francisco information. If you find his street address I might be able to tell you a bit about the neighbourhood, if you are interested. (I lived in San Francisco for years.) |

I've been trying to kill off my Farrs from Wales and found a death notice for one in San Francisco in 1916. I know there have been some threads here on searching in USA, but I can't find them. I've put in several searches. Can anyone remember and nudge it for me. Thanks. |
