I have just been trying to tidy all my messages up and sort out who is actually related to me that i have got access to there tree. I have only been a member for about 3 months and have been given access to 31 trees that have absolutely no relevance to my tree apart from we have the same surname in our tree. Don't people bother checking that they are talking to someone genuine about there tree it makes me wonder whether the information on there tree is correct if they just give access to there tree willynilly. I have now got to message each one of these and ask them to remove me from viewing there tree as it is driving me barmy when i try and look at other family members trees and i have to try and work out which one it is. Does this annoy anyone else? Why do people do it. I always ask plenty of questions 1st to make sure that we are talking about exactly the same person and then still reluctant t let them view my tree i prefer to check there 1st to make sure that there is a match. Moan and groan now over Thanks Jen |

If they are not your relations (the trees you don't want to see), can't you just delete them from your Contacts instead of mailing them? Merry |

I have the same problem, I have access to so many trees that have nothing to do with me. The MOST annoying thing is when I have been given access and can see it is not a match people will still bombard me with messages asking for access to mine even though I have told them it is not a match! |

Hi Jen, I think that people don't always take the check out of the 'show your tree' box, when sending a message, which is how you end up having so many trees to view. You can get rid of the unwanted trees, by removing the tree holder from Your Contacts, this automatically removes the tree. Lynn |

Part of the reason may be that they were not aware that they were giving you access but did so because the didn't untick the box, when they made contact. |

Hi Jennifer If you delete the people from 'your contacts' it aotomatically blocks your access to thier tree. It will save you having to wait for the other people to read your message and then amend things at their end. Glen |

If i delete them from my contacts Merry does this mean that they will show up in my hot matches again, as i can't be doing with them all showing up and having to go through them again. Thanks Jen |

They will if they either add more people to their tree or your Hot Matches haven't reached Z yet! I am getting a complex about this!! I have over 2,000 people on my GR tree and access to two trees.....One is my hubby (so he can ask me about his GR tree like I am some sort of secretary lol) and the other is a new contact from whom I am gaining three new people for my tree (him and his parents)....so won't need to see that one for long!
