Hi anyone, Looked up a marriage on Freebmd, and a new feature is a Postem, which is an added 'message' by the transcriber/researcher. The marriage i'm after says there is a Postem, but no matter what I do, I cannot get to it to see what it says. I've clicked on the little envelope and the info box, but nothing. Anyone any ideas. Cheers Margaret.

Whose marriage is it and when? Merry

Charles Kemp,March qtr, 1872, Ormskirk, Lancs. to Diana Bewes. Wondering if the note is about her, as her name was Dinah originally.

I'm looking at the FreeBMD marriage entry and can see the bit that says how to add a postem, but I can't see the envelope you mentioned. Where abouts is it?? Merry

It's at the top right, where the coloured bits are, with the specs. Where it tells you whether bold or italic. When I put my mouse on this envelope it said, note attached or words to that effect.

Do you mean inside the large rectangle that says ''Key'' at the top right of the screen?? I think that's just to tell you what the symbols mean. If your marriage entry had a postem, the envelope symbol would be next to the red ''Info'' box and spectacles, alongside the actual entry. I think there's no postem for this marriage entry! Merry

Thanks Merry, Yes, I did mean in the Key box. I just didn't understand as it's been a while since i've been on there and hadn't seen the Postem thing before. I was hoping there would be some extra info, anything for nowt is my middle name. Thanks for looking for me. Cheers Margaret.

Thanks Barry, If I add a postem, and there is one already there, it will come up?? Or am I getting confused now. I'll give it a try anyhow. Cheers Margaret.

Thanks Barry, Done it, got there. No postem. At least I know what i'm doing now. Checked yours first to see how to get there. Off now, tired eyes, cat to feed before it gets the budgie!! A lethal combination. Ciao, a beautiful word. Cheers for all the help. Margaret.
