Thanks to all of you. I am going to see if my Dad knows if Tenterden would be correct before going any further with that one. Thanks again for all your help. Donnax |

Except that Steer and Steel sound similar, but Munn doesn't! Merry |

It looks more likely then, that the first birth found is the right one. I looked a couple of years either way and couldn't find another to fit. Tenterden is in Kent. Kath. x |

I have just found their marriage in 1948 Q2 and it says Frederick H (to Thelma C Earl). Maybe I will order the marriage certificate..... |

You say his name is Frederick H. Hart. Do you know what the H. stands for? What was your grandmother's name? If you could find their marriage, it might confirm his middle name, and the age on the marriage certificate might help in tracking down his birth. Kath. x |

Ask him his middle name! (in passing.....not to do with the tree!) Merry |

He is still alive Merry but has not been very enthusiastic about the family tree interest by my cousin and I. His new wife doesn't like us talking about our Gran so I don't want to keep asking him. Makes it a bit awkward but I don't want to upset anyone.... The more I think about it the more I think that the Frederick E Hart is him.... |

Is he still alive? If not, then when did he die? His death registration may give some clues.............. Merry |

Thanks for all your help. That could be him. I am going to check some other years to check he hasn't been telling fibs! |

That's the only Frederick H. Hart born in that qtr. Are you sure of the year, as lots of men altered their year of birth to get into the army, or get married etc. There is a Frederick E. Hart, whose mother's name is Steer, born Pancras. Kath. x |

No Elaine, thats not him. He would have been born in London/Surrey area. I have been told that his mother was Agnes Steel but I am not 100% sure about that! Thanks for looking Elaine Donnax |

You beat me to it Elaine, lol. Donna, If there are qtrs. missing, you can still see most of them if you just open one of the qtrs. that are there, then click on the year at the top (on the line just under the word Ancestry). Then click on the qtr. you want, then click on the letter of the alphabet for the name you want, then scroll through the pages till you find the page with the name you are looking for. Hope this makes sense. Kath. x |

I am struggling to find my grandfather's birth on Ancestry. His name is Frederick H Hart and he was born in July 1924. When I have tried to look on Ancestry there are 2 quarters missing for that year, including quarter 3. Is there anywhere else I can look? I appreciate any help...... Donnax |
