still a novice ( microfilm ? )

Hi all I have seen a few times about scource of info is microfilm or similar with a film reference no , can anyone access this or do you have to be a member of somewhere

I'm not sure where you have seen these references but as you mention film numbers, am guessing that they come from the IGI. In that case, the records from which these entries were taken are held on microfilm and you can go to your local Family History Centre, quote the relevant film number and they will order it in for you to look at. It costs a couple of pounds per film i think and they will keep it for about a month to give you chance to look through it. Other than that, records offices and archives store parish records on microfilm and microfiche and you can view them there although there usually isn't a film number associated with them. Sam x

thanx sam, i have a lot to learn yet i recon. still learing were the keys are on this key pad but hey what the heck your never to old to learn thay say!! lol
