hi all, just wondered if any one else had had a mad idea that payed off? after many months of searching i finaly tracked down my gt gt grand parents grave in deepest dorset! stumbled apon the local vicar who informed me that none of my ancesters still live in the village,i went away a bit dissapointed but then had this mad idea, i went back to the grave the next day armed with a heavy potted plant (plastic of course) and a card in celafane with a brief message in side to the rellies and one for any living relitives who may wish to make contact via e-mail. one week later i shouted I GOT A MESSAGE FROM THE GRAVE! hubby thought i`d lost the plot,i had made contact with a living ralaitive passing through dorset on her return from a weeks hols in cornwall, has any one else done some thing as mad sue

Thats really pleasing. Not something I have thought about, but what a novel way of contacting people. May have to give that one a try!

Not quite so obscure but try this.. I visited the village where a great aunt used to live. I found her house but it had new occupants. They introduced me to a gentleman who was the only person living in the village who had been born there. He invited me to his house. 5 minutes later, he was showing me a video of a television programme which contained some shots of my great aunt. He managed to freeze the frames and I have taken a digital picture. How's that? Jim
