I know the right way is to visit a record office but that is not possible at the moment. Is there any other way? Any other records that are available? i have searched all the records I can think of on IGI and she is not on there. The county is Somerset. Ann Glos

The Somerset board of rootschat has all the parish records that are on-line at present. Do you know which parish she was born in?

You could try the following website as they have good coverage of the West Country: www(.)familyhistoryonline(.)net remove brackets You will need to sign up I think and I usually do a £5 subscription which lasts me months as it costs just a few pence to view each record. Hope that's helped. ps - if it's just the one search you needed doing, I don't mind looking a name up for you - if you give me the details I'll check for you. If you have whole families you need to search for then it would be worth your while subscribing with them.

I am sorry North Petherton is not on-line yet. Rootschat has a thread on the Somerset board to request a look-up and someone might have the disk. Otherwise it might be worth contacting the Somerset familyl History society. I know Bristol family history society do baptism look ups for the old Avon area for £2.00 each.
