No, we have sellotape here in Aus. Although I remember a school teacher once told the class she went into a store in UK during the 60's and asked for durex, meaning sticky tape, and got a very shocked reaction from the staff. Our 'durex' are actually made by Ansell, who also make party balloons. You don't want to be blowing the wrong ones up for a kids party. lol! :-))

I believe that Durex is a trademark in Oz equivalent to Sellotape or Scotch tape in UK/US And, yes, I'm always very carefulto refer to ''erasers'' in mixed UK/US company! Christine

A rubber can also erase future generations. Just asked my first born (age 21), and believe it or not they actually call them condoms. How novel !!!

Put it this way Ed, durex, when used correctly can well, put a distinct halt on the growth of future generations on ones family tree.

those who wish to have their search results on paper,,, buy an A4 graph pad, durex together whatever number of pages you need and you will be able to record any number of generations, with whatever info you wish to put down. yes, its slightly cumbersome but, when it,s folded and unfolded like an ordnance survey map it can be spread on any flat service in its entirety or to a particular branch. i have recorded all possible info on my sheets, age, birthplace, occupations, re-marriages, siblings, et al. i,ve done three sheets in total, work with pencil and eraser, and the graph paper provides an accurate and consistent lay-out guide. two of my sheets are my working copies, they can be shown to and understood by relations and i have found this to be a great memory 'jogger' as most people can more readily identify with the more personal and interesting presentation of your search results. many people for example will be able to shed some light on 'grey' areas, eg pet or nick- names, titles, et al. my third copy is my version of a family bible, its filled with all verified data and is an accurate family record,(albeit a large one). i went in this direction because i find a tree on-line to be as exciting as watching paint dry. it in itself is a laborious process to access, with less cohesion than a map type.
