I am currently using the free program downloaded from the LDS site called Personal Ancestral File (paf) but have just bought Family Historian. I have tried to import the paf file to FH but keep getting a message saying that the file is not known. Does this mean that I will have to copy across each and every entry individually? Thanks Sophie

Hi, Convert the file to a gedcom to export it, then you can import it as a gedcom onto the other programme. Gwynne

Hi You need to download paf to a gedcom file.. On the top bar of paf go to file in the corner click on Export a new box will appear click on other Gedcom 5.5 now another box will appear.. with a *ged in the box.. name this file.. Bloggs family tree.. who ever or whatever you want to call it..This will save you a gedcom file.. that you can import to your FH Program.. you can also use this format to upload gedcom to genes.. Look in the dropdown box at the top of the Export gedcom file and this will tell you where it is being saved.. My Documents or your desktop if you want too.. Hope this helps Mo
