Can someone check an image for me please on 1871 census? I want to know what the street address says....I can only make out the word Yard (and thats probably wrong!!!) See below |

Ah, yes Sue and Christina - I think you're right - makes more sense too. I have found that Yards like this are often named after someone who lives there. In this case that person may have moved on. Anne |

It seems from what I have read that these 'Yards' were often crowded and delapidated areas - so not too pleasant to live in. That said, I don't expect that they all were. Christina |
