Can someone check an image for me please on 1871 census? I want to know what the street address says....I can only make out the word Yard (and thats probably wrong!!!) See below

Looks like WELDIS, specially on the next page. Presumably off Old Road, which comes before it. Anne

A couple of pages on it does look a lot more like Welch's Yard

Ah, yes Sue and Christina - I think you're right - makes more sense too. I have found that Yards like this are often named after someone who lives there. In this case that person may have moved on. Anne

It seems from what I have read that these 'Yards' were often crowded and delapidated areas - so not too pleasant to live in. That said, I don't expect that they all were. Christina
