Evening folks, Thought I would just try you all out with this one before I order the cert. From the England and Wales Marriage Index I found that my Gt/Gt/ grandfather, JOHN HOOPER was married second quarter 1839, South Stoneham. vol 7 : page 253. According to later census returns his wife was Sarah, but Sarah who ? Any ideas where I can find this info so that I can finish this bit of paperwor,. or will I have to wait to get the marriage cert. Regards, Mick |

if you look this up on FreeBmd and click on the page no 253 you will see the others listed on the same page.Looks like your 'wife' was Sarah Sheppard cos she s the only sarah listed with the same ref So thats June 1839 South Stoneham 7 253,for the GRo ref to get the marriage cert |

Shirley, DOH, I,m going brain dead. I have been at this for over a week now, just going over old results, rechecking etc and I find that I am making a few silly mistakes and just cant think straight. Re your reply, and thankyou for that, WHY DIDN,T I THINK OF THAT !!! Time to have a rest from this lot I think. SO, one brandy coming up, feet up and watch the boards. After I have finished this bit of paperwork of course. Many thanks again. Regards, Mick. |
