Trust the peeps on here - Ive had this happen over and over. Names, dates, places, kids - all absolute truth from relatives which have turned out to be completely wrong. |

Well done - I know the feeling - I have been there - done that - found the death certificate 10years later than an uncle told me. Good luck with your research. Irene |

Never believe what family says - the number of people who've followed the wrong tree due to poor or convenient family memories is high. |

I have asked for advice on here concerning my grandfather's death certificate. So many relatives told me he had died in Wandsworth in 1940's, so I ignored the advice of the wise ones on here and took it as gospel(how could so many people be wrong?) I spent hours trawling the death reords, I contacted churches and cemeteries to no avail. I then contacted a cousin who told me it was Cardiff. I am now the proud owner of his death certificate. |
