Hi Maggie They have been getting a list of all the boys that went to Mayfield I left in 1951 and they made it an all boys school in 1953 I e-mailed and asked them about getting a list of all the girls, but who knows how many of us are left? I just had my 70th and I never thought I would live this long. They e-mailed back and said if I could get a group of four they could start doing that. I'll put out a thread tomorrow morning when more of the English members are around. I'm in the U.S.

Hi Pauline I forgot to say how MANY MANY years ago this was, I was really surprised to be able to find it at all. Mine was the Peterborough Junior Girls School in Fulham. To think we actually walked to school by ourselves. Something my grandchildren will never be allowed to do. What a shame. I hope you are enjoying your memory as much as I am mine.

I just googled the name of my very first school in London and was able to find a map for it which also shows the street where I used to live. Oh the memories of walking to school along those streets. And the park I THOUGHT I remembered opposite the school, still there. I am overwhelmed with mind pictures. The school is still in use, although it is not a Girl's School and a separate Boy's School any more. What a find!!
